The SUSMg2 project is an EU-led strategic initiative aimed at establishing a secure, domestic supply of Magnesium (Mg) and Magnesia (MgO) through the responsible development of the Valea Dobra resource in Romania.

Currently, the EU meets its metallic Magnesium demand almost exclusively through imports from China. This creates a critical vulnerability for the automotive, aerospace, and energy sectors.

Valea Dobra: A Strategic Asset
Mineral Proiect Invest (MPI) holds full rights to the Valea Dobra resource. With over €2 million already invested in exploration, we are transforming this deposit into a cornerstone of European raw material security.
Our focus is on a fully integrated flowsheet: from serpentine leaching to high-purity MgO and finally to Magnesium metal through advanced electrolysis.
Economic Value & Impact
By 2030, SUSMg2 is expected to generate a commercial value of over €200 million in the RIS region. This isn't just about mining; it's about creating a high-tech industrial ecosystem that provides jobs and technical expertise within the EU.
